There are slight variations. This has happened with <span style=\"font-family: Trebuchet MS;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/teach4god.com\/OTS\/2012\/04\/14\/psalm-53\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-family: Trebuchet MS; color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-family: Trebuchet MS; color: #0000ff;\">Psalm 53<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: Trebuchet MS;\"> and <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Psalm%2014&amp;amp;version=NASB\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-family: Trebuchet MS; color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-family: Trebuchet MS; color: #0000ff;\">Psalm 14<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: Trebuchet MS;\">.The superscription is the first to stand out. Psalm 70 adds the words &#8220;for the memorial offering,&#8221; which occurs elsewhere only in the superscription for <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Psalm%2038&amp;version=NASB\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-family: Trebuchet MS; color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-family: Trebuchet MS; color: #0000ff;\">Psalm 38<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: Trebuchet MS;\"> (<a title=\"Psalm 38\" href=\"https:\/\/teach4god.com\/OTS\/2012\/05\/09\/psalm-38\/\">see our study<\/a>). This psalm is also like Psalm 9 in that the psalm that follows has no heading, which lead some to believe that, like Psalm 9 and Psalm 10, Psalm 70 and Psalm 71 belong together (see our study on <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/teach4god.com\/OTS\/2012\/03\/03\/psalm-9\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-family: Trebuchet MS; color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-family: Trebuchet MS; color: #0000ff;\">Psalm 9<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: Trebuchet MS;\"> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/teach4god.com\/OTS\/2012\/03\/03\/psalm-10\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-family: Trebuchet MS; color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-family: Trebuchet MS; color: #0000ff;\">Psalm 10<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: Trebuchet MS;\">). The other main difference, like Psalm 53 and Psalm 14, is that of changing the name for the covenant God of Israel\u00a0(Jehovah\u00a0[\u05d9\u05b0\u05bd\u05d4\u05d5\u05b8\u05d4])<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Trebuchet MS;\"> in the first and last verse to the universal God of creation (Elohim\u00a0[\u05d0\u05b1\u05dc\u05b9\u05d4\u05b4\u05d9\u05dd])<\/span><\/span>David\u2019s call in this psalm can be outlined as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Verse 1-Help me<\/li>\n<li>Verses 2-3-Punish them<\/li>\n<li>Verse 4-Praise Him<\/li>\n<li>Verse 5-Help me<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This psalm of five verses contains many requests by David to God.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Verse 1-Deliver me and help me<\/li>\n<li>Verse 2-put to shame and confusion those who seek my life and turn back and dishonor those who desire to hurt me<\/li>\n<li>Verse 3-turn back because of their shame<\/li>\n<li>Verse 4-let all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you and let those who love your salvation say evermore, &#8220;God is great!&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Verse 5-hasten to me and do not delay (can you sense the desperation on David\u2019s part?)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>God answers prayers according to His timetable.\u00a0 <span style=\"font-family: Trebuchet MS;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Hebrews%204.16&amp;version=NASB\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-family: Trebuchet MS; color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-family: Trebuchet MS; color: #0000ff;\">Hebrews 4.16<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: Trebuchet MS;\"> reminds us that God gives us grace, His help, in His time. The greatest examples of this principle that I can think are found in <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John%2011.1-46&amp;version=NASB\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-family: Trebuchet MS; color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-family: Trebuchet MS; color: #0000ff;\">John 11.1-46<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: Trebuchet MS;\"> with the death of Lazarus and <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Galatians%204.4&amp;version=NASB\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-family: Trebuchet MS; color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-family: Trebuchet MS; color: #0000ff;\">Galatians 4.4<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: Trebuchet MS;\"> with the sending of Jesus to the earth. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>How desperate are you for God\u2019s help? Really? Ponder that question. How much do you really think you need Him through the course of the day? Can you get up without Him? Can you deal with the people in your life without Him? Can you handle the stress of the day without Him? The answer to these and other questions like them, is &#8220;yes.&#8221; Can you do it well and according to His will without Him?
