{"id":872,"date":"2012-04-14T15:40:37","date_gmt":"2012-04-14T22:40:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.teach4god.com\/OTS\/?p=872"},"modified":"2014-04-02T05:23:39","modified_gmt":"2014-04-02T12:23:39","slug":"psalm-75","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/teach4god.com\/OTS\/2012\/04\/14\/psalm-75\/","title":{"rendered":"Psalm 75"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Psalm%2075&amp;version=NASB\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-family: Trebuchet MS; color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-family: Trebuchet MS; color: #0000ff;\">Psalm 75<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The term in the superscription, &#8220;Altaschith,&#8221; means &#8220;Do not destroy.&#8221; It occurs in Psalms 57-59 (see our study of Psalm 57, <a title=\"Psalm 58\" href=\" https:\/\/teach4god.com\/OTS\/2012\/05\/02\/psalm-58\/\">58<\/a>, and <a title=\"Psalm 59\" href=\"https:\/\/teach4god.com\/OTS\/2012\/02\/11\/psalm-59\/\">59<\/a>). Although the meaning is not clear, some have conjectured that it was a tune of a popular song.\u00a0 <span style=\"font-family: Trebuchet MS;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Isaiah%2065.8&amp;version=NASB\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-family: Trebuchet MS; color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-family: Trebuchet MS; color: #0000ff;\">Isaiah 65.8<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: Trebuchet MS;\"> seems to reference it.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The structure of the psalm presents different speakers:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the people praise God for who He is. what He has done, and for His being with them (1)<\/li>\n<li>God announces His sovereign will of judging the earth at the time He gives (2-5). There is a Selah in the center of these verses asking us to pause and consider where we stand in terms of that judgement.<\/li>\n<li>the people declare that God is the only and true Judge (6-9)<\/li>\n<li>God declares His intention to bring about the final judgment (10)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>God will bring about His righteous judgement and will call all men to answer for themselves.
