It can also be looked at as a list of the kings from David\u2019s family before the exile (1-16) and after the exile (17-24). This short list suggests that the Chronicles were written shortly after the exiles returned from Babylon.<\/p>\n<p>As with <a href=\"https:\/\/teach4god.com\/OTS\/2012\/03\/07\/1-chronicles-1\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">1 Chronicles 1<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/teach4god.com\/OTS\/2012\/03\/08\/1-chronicles-2\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">1 Chronicles 2<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a>, we find this to be\u00a0a normal list of people who set the stage for the greater people in the list. We might not be the great people of history, but without us the great people of history would not be the great people of history. However God has placed you in this world (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Acts%2017.26&amp;version=NASB\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Acts 17.26<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a>), rejoice in it for it is to fulfill His purpose and is for His glory.<\/p>\n<p>One of the oddities of this chapter is the last name, Anani. He was considered\u00a0to be\u00a0the coming Messiah according to the Targum. Another oddity, which displays God\u2019s creativity, is Jeconiah. His line is cursed and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Jeremiah%2022.24-30&amp;version=NASB\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Jeremiah 22.24-30<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a> prophesies that no man from him will reign. Yet, Jesus is from the house of David. How does God work this out?
